About Wilderness
Wilderness Yoga would like to be a welcoming community centre with yoga at its heart. You do not have to be a fabulous shining yoga person that you might recognise from social media and youtube.
You can safely be as broken and as vulnerable as you are because you and I and all of us are HUMAN. To be human is to be part of the whole of that which makes up life, we simply are. We are all doing our best to make sense of the world and contribute, contemplate, reflect, survive, maybe even thrive.
Wilderness recognises that we are all part of the wild-ness of being alive and reminds us that we are biological beings, mammals, walking the earth reliant on the sun, earth, water, food, oxygen and each other in a very real way. Without each other we cannot be us.
There are factors that remove us from these facts, such as society's structure, the economic model, status, work, and other hierarchies that our civilization has developed over many years. Wilderness would like to provide a place where we can shed these motifs and simply BE HUMAN, breathe, feel the physical body move with alignment, become stronger and more accepting of ourselves. A place where we can leave behind society's expectations of us and take some time to be with who we really are. This can feel like a daunting wilderness but the rewards are enormous.
